Looking for a fun way to dress up your pots? Our decoupage DIY is the perfect way to give your pot or container a fresh look...

Traditionally decoupage is defined as the art of decorating an object by gluing colored paper cutouts onto an object with special paint effects (such as gold leaf). Modern decoupage has come to include all types of fabric, trims, and paper such as magazine tears. These can be used to cover pots, boxes, or anything that needs some creative TLC.

Our Pantry: Risotto with Green Vegetables

Does anything compare to a good risotto? How about a risotto with delicious assorted green vegetables and served in a flaky dough wrapper? All we can say is yum!

This recipe from Savory Bites is as good as it is fun to make! Simply prepare the veggies, cook the risotto, combine in a pre-made pie dough or puff pastry wrapper and then bake in a cupcake pan! 

Voila! A perfect summery appetizer!

Our Pantry: Talavera Dishware

Looking for a colorful addition to your table top?

Authentic Talavera pottery comes from the city of Puebla which supplies the clay needed and the long range of history behind this beautiful craft. All pieces are hand-thrown on a potter's wheel and hand-painted in different villages. 

Tradition dictates that only six colors may be painted on top of the white base glaze: blue, yellow, black, green, orange and mauve. These colors are made from natural pigment which then take on a blurred appearance as the designs fuse with the milky-white top glaze. 

 Consistent with tradition, the base of each piece which touches the table, is not glazed but exposes the terracotta material of the dish.

Our Pantry: Thousand-Tomato Salad

Spring brings with it many joys: warmer weather, more daylight hours to spend outside, and a bountiful harvest of home grown fruits and vegetables. 

Sounds like its time for an outdoor dinner party! 

Here's a perfect salad recipe from one of our favorite cookbooks, Home Made Summer by Yvette van Boven. This collection of recipes is perfect for spring and summer. Inspired by her childhood in Ireland and her frequent trips to France, the author's recipes use seasonal ingredients, such as freshly picked apples and berries, delicate summer lettuces and fresh herbs.
